Master Transit 101

Try on a Transit Planner hat and work with us to shape public transit's future in the St. Louis region!

Beginning Tuesday, October 13th, 2009, Metro kicks off Round 1 of a series of transit planning community workshops, at which the public will be asked to share their ideas for improving transit service and expanding the system. Participants will break into small groups and rotate through six "knowledge stations" where they will learn about:

  • The “Moving Transit Forward” planning process & timeline
  • The St. Louis region and the Metro transit system
  • Transit modes & services, both existing and future possibilities
  • Transit funding
The workshops will be held in various locations throughout the region to encourage maximum public participation and regional representation. Share your thoughts on improving service and prioritizing new projects. Your input will help shape the “Moving Transit Forward” long-range plan. Thank you!

what to expect at the workshop knowledge stations
Station #1 – Moving Transit Forward Overview
At this station, learn about the study, its purpose, goals, and timeline. You will also be able to view maps outlining our current system and previous studied routes.
Station #2 – Existing Conditions
This station will give you a current overview of our region in terms of population, employment centers, and economic development. This is important information when deciding transit’s future expansion.

Station #6 – What Do You Prefer?
